Bio

Ketai Qiu is a PhD student in Informatics supervised by Prof. Mauro Pezzè at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in Switzerland. His research focuses on software quality and testing, with a particular emphasis on Failure Detection, Test Case Prioritization and Test Case Generation. His research is funded by Swiss National Science Foundation project A-Test Autonomic Software Testing. Since September 2023, Ketai has become a member of the STAR group led by Prof. Mauro Pezzè. Ketai is an ACM and IEEE member.

Before joining the STAR group, Ketai graduated with a Master of Science (summa cum laude) in Software and Data Engineering in June 2023 from USI, defending his thesis titled Experimental Evaluation of Failure Predictors for Industrial-Scale Applications under the supervision of Prof. Mauro Pezzè and Rahim Heydarov. In the summer of 2022, Ketai conducted a research internship under the project Experimental Evaluation of Failure Predictors for Containerized Cloud Applications advised by Prof. Mauro Pezzè and Rahim Heydarov with the grants from the Faculty of Informatics, USI.

Ketai received his bachelor's degree in Network Engineering with honours from Nanjing Agricultural University in China and successfully defended his thesis on Design and Implementation of a Mobile Application Called Mistake Recorder under the supervision of Prof. Zhonghong Xie in June 2021. He is proud to have graduated from Suzhou Industrial Park Xinghai Experimental Middle School in the memorable July of 2017, where he developed a strong foundation in both study and personal growth.
